Saltash Heritage had a lovely surprise at the beginning of October 2019 with a visit from local MP Sheryll Murray and her husband Bob, accompanied by local County Councillor Sheila Lennox-Boyd. Sheryll kindly donated a framed picture and history of John Rathbone MP who was member of parliament for our constituency from 1935 to 1940. Having joined the RAF, he sadly lost his life in December 1940 whilst flying on a mission attacking the docks at Antwerp. This will be displayed in next years exhibition commemorating hostilities in the UK at the end of World War 2.
Sheila also presented the museum with a crystal plaque commemorating the Tamar Bridge project in 2001, which will be on display in our 2021 exhibition.
